We finally came up with a name (Mrs. J's Smart Cookies), and here is the first podcast using the students' voices! I'm excited about everyone's participation in this, and I look forward to producing many more group efforts this year!
Here are your words and some hints for your sentences for the week 12 vocabulary list. If you have any questions after listening, be sure to attend grammar workshop.
Here is an example of a sentence with a compound verb (or predicate):
Mrs. Johnston picked up the book and threw it across the room.
The predicate is "picked up the book and threw it across the room". The two verbs are picked and threw. A compound predicate is one in which the subject does two or more actions. Make sure you highlight the verbs.
And for those of you that insist on highlighting the vocabulary word, please stop. Nowhere in the directions does it say that, and it is very distracting when grading!
Need or want extra credit? No problem, but you're going to have to earn it!
Leave a comment for me here and include at least 3 of our vocabulary words from this semester. Yes, spelling counts! Yes, it has to make sense! Earn bonus points if you also include 2 of our vocabulary words from LAST semester!
Don't leave me your full name, though - just your first name and last initial.
The deadline for extra credit podcast comments is every Friday by 6 pm.
Be sure to listen, and visit iTunes so you can download me to your iPod! (ha ha)
